In Brazil, the Banco Central do Brasil (BCB) authorizes payment institutions under BCB Resolution No. 80. The ecosystem also revolves around Pix, the BCB's instant payment system, and Open Finance Brasil, whose participants register in a dedicated directory.
The 16 Brazilian companies in this directory state different legal forms on their official websites (checked 2026-10-06): payment institutions (Nubank via Nu Pagamentos, Stone, PagBank via PagSeguro, Neon, Celcoin and Dock), direct credit companies (Creditas and QI Tech), a credit, financing and investment company (Cora), banks (C6 Bank and Banco Inter), a foreign-exchange correspondent (Remessa Online) and a virtual-asset service provider in the authorization process (Mercado Bitcoin).
If you sell to Brazilian companies, expect their commercial and technical material to be in Portuguese.
